    Usable facts on pricing

The HTS - is preloaded with a minimum of 100 lessons, more than enough to service an educational environment for two years or more!

HOPSports’ sustainability is incredible. For example, the Dell warranty on the CPU is four years, and the life on the projector is 5,000 hours. The maintenance cost, other than occasional bulb replacement for the projector, is, minimal.

Using the minimum lifeline of two years, the purchasing institution is incurring a modest per-day-per-child cost for physical activity, nutrition and social messaging that will be a lifetime of education for each student.

In a school of 500 students using a 180 day school year, the per-student cost is less than ten cents per day per year. As the student population increases and as the years of use increase beyond two years, the actual per student cost becomes pennies per day.

Current purchasers of the HTS, will continue to receive content as it is developed. Many of the current purchasers will have in excess of 100 lessons to choose from by the end of the 2008 school year. This will expand the usable years of life of the HTS so that the 10 cent/day/student price now becomes pennies per student.

The bottom line is that HOPSports is a robust, comprehensive, energetic, educational and entertaining program able to engage every student in the classroom. Offered at a minimal cost, HOPSports is perhaps unparalleled in the physical education or educational community!

  12.

  13. What guidelines does the HTS curriculum follow?>

HOPSports lessons follow the guidelines of NASPE (National Association of Sports and Physical Educators). NASPE sets the guidelines for national standards, and then each state sets their standards based on the NASPE guidelines.

“NASPE supports the HOPSports system as an instructional tool for developing skills and fitness in a quality physical education program taught by a certified physical education teacher.”

Additionally, HOPSports uses the expertise of professional organizations and their players to teach the fundamentals of sport-specific curriculum.

  14.

  15. What is DVR technology?

The Media Center functions as the DVR and has enough storage capacity to store over 1,200 ten minute lesson plans, all accessed at the push of a button on a remote. The HOPSports content is designed in a 3-box format to appeal to Generation M (where M = Media). The 3 boxes provide a design in which the lessons can be presented in a fresh, entertaining way. The students can be taught, entertained, and motivated simultaneously while being distracted with nutrition and wellness messaging, anti-smoking campaign, fun facts, games, popular music and cartoons.

  22.

  23. How can we create storage for the HTS?

  24.

  25. Is there a proper way to inflate the physio-balls?

We recommend an air compressor to inflate the physio-balls. Follow the directions in the “How to Guide” found in the Instruction folder located on your Media Center.

  26.

  27. What if a mat tears?

Super glue works well on mat tears.

  28.

  29. What are the facility requirements for using the HTS?

    1. The HTS requires a multi-purpose/gymnasium (facility) large enough to accommodate class participants.

    3. Requires access to a standard electrical outlet.

  30.

  31. What training products are in competition with the HTS?

There is no current product on the market that competes with the HTS. Television, fitness videos and video games could be considered competition. However, none of these have yet evolved into a multi-faceted training system that combines fitness, entertainment, measurable results and public service announcements in one package that is instantly customizable and provides corporate sponsorship opportunities.

In summary, HOPSports is flexible, adaptable, and easily customized to keep exercise fresh and interesting. The flexible nature of the HTS allows easy implementation of current exercise trends, updated district guidelines, and constantly updated entertainment, corporate sponsorships and PSA options. This creates a fun, trendy, and ever-changing training system that is also extremely effective in helping achieve fitness and weight loss. PSAs from professional athletes, celebrities, and musicians keep it entertaining as well as convey positive health and social messages. The HTS is designed to be implemented indoors.

  32.

  33. What software comes pre-installed on the computer?

HOPSports pre-installs the HTS complete video library and iTunes software. Due to the plethora of programs on the marketplace sensitive to different anti-virus programs currently running on the same network, HOPSports has decided not to install Microsoft Office or any antivirus software on the computer.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a fully functional computer and as a result is susceptible to viruses and other threats from the internet. HOPSports strongly advises that the site technical support team recommends antivirus/internet security program and install it on the computer.

  34.

  35. How will we receive new content?

  36.

  37. How often is the HTS content updated and new material created?

HOPSports films several times each year and is continuously creating new content.
New content is available to schools on a semi-annual basis, usually at the beginning of the school year and then again mid-year. Occasionally content will be produced by partners who are developing custom programming.  We are confident that our current lesson plans/ content will amply satisfy and sustain more than two years of physical education activity. As popularity and demand for HOPSports increases, there is a correlated expanse of HOPSports partnership opportunities united by shared vision.  The more we create and produce the more we will share with you!

  38.

  39. Has the HTS been used in youth community sites?

Yes. The system is successfully used in parks and recreation departments, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, JCC’s, fitness centers, youth authorities and other community based organizations for in school applications and afterschool programs. Please contact Kirk Alger or Colleen Connors at (866) 762-4677 with opportunities as it relates to these organizations.

  40.

  41. Is it possible to purchase the system without the projector or the CPU?

The HTS is a fully banded system. This means that all of the pieces come together. As a general policy, we do not segment the sale of the system. We are unable to warrant the entire system if it is purchased in pieces. The CPU contains all of the content and without the CPU and its content, the site is not receiving the essential component of the HTS.

  42.

  43. Is it possible to use the projector, sound system or CPU for other purposes?

Yes. However, it is not recommended for the reasons outlined above. Content can be lost, inadvertently erased or damaged to our chagrin and to the expense of the purchaser. Additionally, the HTS warranty applies only when the system is used for the HTS purpose.

  44.

  45. Is it possible to purchase enough training tools to run two classes simultaneously?

Yes. Many schools purchase additional training tools to accommodate larger class sizes.

  46.

  47. Is the system connected to the internet?

No. The CPU can be connected to the internet, but an internet connection is not required for the HTS to be operational. The HTS is a free standing, independent system.

  48.

  49. How does iTunes work?

Songs are downloaded straight to the CPU. In the free music choice lessons, the downloaded music or an inserted CD of your choice provides the sound!

  50.

  51. Does HTS include a bi-lingual or multi-lingual component (i.e., for Spanish speaking populations)?

Yes, we have Spanish content included in some of our lesson plans. We eventually may include subtitles but schools have not widely requested as the majority of students speak English. George Verlarde, recent recipient of California Teacher of the Year and an avid proponent and spokesperson for HOPSports, does the Spanish voice over for curriculum.

HTS accommodates special needs students (i.e., wheelchair bound, mentally disabled, and other forms of physical disabilities).

HOPSports content is designed for participatory content interaction.  Imagine a wheel-chair bound person able to move and groove their arms to the rhythm of hip-hop dance. While the HOPSports training system is not created specifically for adaptive physical education purposes, it is used extensively for students with special needs. Currently we are working with educators to create content which is accessible and adaptive to students with disabilities, presented in a format conducive to their skill development. With all of our programming we are committed to aligning with expert class instructors for each newly developed lesson plan.

  52.

  53. Are there any plans to expand the curriculum of HTS to specifically address populations with physical and/or mental disabilities?

This is an area of peaked and significant interest and value to us, and we welcome any ideas or suggestions for future customized content that you may have.

HTS is NASPE and state-standards compliant. We specifically address the standards for state standards because the national standards are addressed.

Aligning with the NASPE standards has allowed us to be compliant with state standards. The majority of states follow the NASPE Standards as a baseline and all of our lesson plans incorporate these standards. In fact, before each lesson plan we spell out exactly which NASPE Standard is being utilized. This helps the physical education teacher from an accountability standpoint. California was one of the first states to develop a more comprehensive standards based plan, so in addition to NASPE we have focused on the California Standards understanding they are the bench mark for almost every state that has designed and implemented standards.

Each state is now being evaluated to match lessons to standards. In other words, when a teacher has a standard that needs to be complied with, the teacher can consult the standards for his/her state, identify the particular standard and identify the lesson(s) that will permit compliance.

  54.

  55. Is there on-site training for physical education teachers included in the HTS purchase price?

There is on-site training available. However, there is a flat fee of $2,500.00 for training fewer than 10 schools. Training is free when 10 or more systems are purchased or ten or more schools consolidate their training.

  56.

  57. Is there branding included in the system?

Yes, for those sites contracted within the venue of a partnered HOPSports professional sports team. For instance the Chicago sites will receive Chicago Bulls branded content reflective of HOPSports partnership with the NBA. In respect to our associated NFL markets, a site may receive content branded with the local NFL franchise provided  that the team has an established branding relationship with HOPSports. In addition, corporate branding is also available.

For the availability of sponsorship, foundation or corporate branding, contact Cindy Sisson, President (704) 906-9507 cindy@hopsports.com.

  58.
